Women In Distress

Strong volunteer leadership is essential for a nonprofit to grow and thrive.

Throughout our 45 year history, talented and dedicated community leaders have stepped up to serve on our Women In Distress Board of Directors. Their direction and hands-on involvement is the defining difference that continues to guide Women In Distress as we serve domestic violence survivors and their children, and it has made us the largest certified domestic violence center in the state of Florida.

This strength continues this year with Kim Bentley, from JM Family Enterprises, serving as Board Chair. She is joined by 22 leaders with diverse professional, business and philanthropic backgrounds.

As the issues surrounding domestic violence continue to grow, the challenges are many. Thanks to our board working closely with our staff and community partners, we are ready to meet the challenges and make our community a safer place for everyone.
