Isabel’s Story

Isabel-headerMy name is Isabel and I am 14 years old and live in the Women In Distress shelter. I want to say Thank You for helping me and my family.  I really love it here. When I come home from school, Carla always says “Welcome home Isabel!  How was your day?”  That makes me feel like I am welcomed here. The advocates compliment me and it makes me feel good about myself.

I am very thankful for what Women In Distress has done for me, my little sister and my little brother and of course my Dad. You gave us shelter, a bed to lie on at night, food and positive people to help us when we were scared and down. I feel very grateful because I know there are many people that need you, adults and children alike that wish they had the life I have now. So I thank you very much.
