Women In Distress

Double your Donation and Help Us Save Lives

Every donation to the “Power of One” campaign is doubled thanks to a $500,000 challenge grant from The Jim Moran Foundation.

Help us raise $1 million that will keep women, children and men safe from domestic violence.

Each One of us has the power to make a difference.

Together, we can save lives by keeping families safe from domestic violence.

One is a powerful number. It’s the beginning, a place where there are endless opportunities to do more. The Women In Distress POWER OF ONE MATCH CAMPAIGN is our opportunity to raise $1 million that will keep women, children and men safe from domestic violence and help them create new, self-sufficient lives where love doesn’t hurt.

Now through June 30, The Jim Moran Foundation will match contributions dollar-for-dollar to meet the growing needs of families escaping domestic violence and honor our retiring President and CEO through the creation of the Mary Riedel Legacy Fund. At a time when abuse is making things even more difficult for struggling families, The Jim Moran Foundation will match contributions up to $500,000.

The Mary Riedel Legacy Fund will provide critical unrestricted dollars that will allow Women In Distress to grow as necessary to best meet survivors’ needs. Some of the most immediate issues the Fund aims to address are access to transitional or affordable housing, and providing survivors with educational opportunities, job placement and other resources to help them move forward.

How You Can Help

We rely on private donors like you to meet the required match that is necessary to utilize public funds that ensure we’re able to meet our community’s greatest needs, especially during these challenging times where families are stressed, which leads to increased incidents of domestic violence.

One moment can change a life. One person can stop the cycle of abuse. One donation can make a difference. We can’t do this without you.

Be the next One. Donate today.

Double your donation.

Jim Moran established The Jim Moran Foundation in 2000 to ensure his giving back to children and families would continue for many generations to come. To recognize this 20-year milestone, The Foundation has committed more than $12 million in special grants to support nonprofit partners that are meeting the ever-changing needs of the community in Broward, Duval and Palm Beach counties.
