Women In Distress

Honoring Lois Herman

Congratulations to Lois Herman for winning the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ 2022 Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser!

We are honored and delighted to have Lois on our Board of Trustees and appreciate her service as an active community member. Lois has been involved with Women In Distress for over 18 years, where she has served in various capacities including Board of Trustee membership, leading many volunteer efforts, and helping Women In Distress anytime she can. Lois has been mission-oriented and sought every opportunity possible to advance the mission of Women In Distress, particularly the agency’s service to children. To honor her husband, Hal Herman, Lois created the Hal Herman Children’s Fund at Women In Distress for his 80th birthday present.

Lois makes an impression everywhere she goes, with her exuberant spirit, her kind heart, her smile and positivity affect everyone she meets. She leaves every room making it brighter than before, and has benefitted our community in so many different ways. Lois has been paramount in recruiting, keeping, and coordinating volunteers to benefit WID and willingly shares her knowledge and passion for our mission – to end domestic violence abuse for everyone through intervention, education, and advocacy.

We’re glad the South Florida community is recognizing what we’ve known all along – Lois is a star!

Lois, thank you for everything you do, and congratulations!

Lois will be recognized on National Philanthropy Day, Wednesday, November 16th, at the 35th Annual National Philanthropy Day Awards Show & Luncheon held at the Signature Grand.
