Our Direct Service Volunteers are volunteers who have obtained clearance through our 30-hour Core Competency training to work directly with our participants in our center. Volunteer areas include assisting our advocates with updating participant files; supervising children in our Respite program while mom or dad meets with an advocate; and more.
Volunteering in a direct service capacity is a great opportunity to directly support those affected by domestic violence. Volunteers will have the chance to receive excellent practical experience in direct service, including the agency’s children’s enrichment services, specialty advocacy programs, emergency shelter, hotline, and other opportunities as outlined below. All services are provided in an empowerment-based, trauma-informed manner that seeks to ensure the safety of the domestic violence survivor and all vulnerable family members.
Please note: Direct service volunteer opportunities require a commitment of 3 hours/week and agency training including 30-hour Core Competency training, and background screening.

MINIMUM VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Submit a completed volunteer interest form.
- Complete a background check and all requisite training.
- Must be ready to make a BIG difference!
