Women In Distress extends a heartfelt thank you to guests and attendees of its Giving Breakfast, ‘Love Shouldn’t Hurt’, presented by JM Family Enterprises, Inc./Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC and supported by Leadership Sponsor Universal Property and Casualty Insurance Company.
It was a great opportunity to showcase the mission of our agency, highlight the work of our Education & Prevention team in Broward County Schools and salute the community work of our Board Chair Kim Bentley over the past two decades.

More than 90 guests were in attendance including Broward County Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie and his wife Diana; and Mx. Kezia Gilyard and Ms. Jennifer Cook from Broward Schools. Thanks to the support of our sponsors, and individual contributions the Giving Breakfast raised more than $32,000. With the generous support of The Thomas Family Foundation Vision for the Future Challenge Grant, charitable contributions given at the breakfast will be matched dollar-for-dollar. It was quite a morning!
On behalf of the more than 4,000 women, men and children served by Women In Distress last year – thank you. Your support helped us to provide more than 34,000 counseling and therapy hours to survivors and their children, answer more than 25,000 24-hour Crisis Hotline calls, provide more than 29,000 safe emergency shelter nights, and more at no cost.
