Thrift Store Donations
WID BLOOMING SALES THRIFT STORE
1372 North State Road 7, Margate, FL 33063
Donations are ONLY accepted at the store on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday from 10:30am – 4:00pm.
WHY WE NEED YOUR DONATIONS
100% of the net proceeds support families affected by domestic violence. Your tax-deductible donations of gently used clothing, furniture, and household items, help end domestic violence in our community in two ways:
- Survivors benefit from items donated to the thrift store and often are able to build a career wardrobe for an important job interview or select home goods and furnishings to help them rebuild a new home. Survivors and their families who receive services at Women In Distress are able to shop at the Thrift Store, at no cost, to help rebuild their lives.
- Items are sold to the public and 100% of the net proceeds support our emergency shelter, counseling and therapy services and our other related programs.

HOW TO VALUE YOUR DONATION:
IRS GUIDELINES
If you itemize deductions on your federal tax return, you may be entitled to claim a charitable deduction for your Women In Distress donations. According to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), a taxpayer can deduct the fair market value of clothing, household goods, used furniture, shoes, books and so forth. Fair market value is the price a willing buyer would pay for them. Value usually depends on the condition of the item. By law, a charity cannot tell you what your donated items are worth. This is something you must do yourself. To assess “fair market value” for your donations:
- Consult a local tax advisor who should be familiar with market values in your region
- Visit irs.gov to learn more
