2023 Back to School Campaign and Supply Drive Benefitting Children Survivors of Domestic Violence.
More than half of the individuals served by Women In Distress are children. Your donation will help provide therapy, counseling, advocacy, school supplies, suitable clothing, and most of all the reassurance that even today, a fresh start can lead to success for the children of domestic violence survivors.
Help children and teens impacted by domestic violence return to school prepared and equipped to learn by donating to the Women In Distress Back-to-School Supply Drive. Please note we are especially in need of items for our middle and high school students.
We need help securing 300+ backpacks. We also have reduced our supply list to our BIGGEST needs that were unfulfilled last year. You can purchase a clear backpack and have it sent directly to us here or you can donate online, or by mail. We appreciate your help in this matter!

JOANNE C. DELIZZA
November 23, 1958 — November 28, 2020
Joanne dedicated her life to helping others. First, as a pharmacist (University of Florida, Gainesville) and in a more direct and soulful way, as a yoga teacher. One of her proudest achievements was when she accumulated the 1000 teaching hours required to be designated E-RYT-500, whereby “E” represents an Experienced Yoga instructor. Joanne specialized in restorative and gentle yoga focusing on the body, movement, and injuries of her students. In doing so, she presented a myriad of modifications, offering options and alternatives targeting the unique needs of each student.
She was an amazingly helpful and kind person who would go out of her way to respond to any request she heard, felt, or perceived. Joanne became an enthusiastic supporter of the mission of Women In Distress after Board of Trustee Lois Herman introduced her to the agency. Joanne’s commitment to the mission of stopping domestic violence for everyone through intervention, education and advocacy was so profound that she directed a major gift to Women In Distress in her estate plan.
