Past Community Events 

• The 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Rick Case Automotive Group at the Signature Grand. Women In Distress was selected as one of the participating charities to benefit from this exciting celebration. 100% of every table, ticket, silent auction item, and sponsorship secured by Women In Distress benefits our agency, as all event expenses were underwritten by Rick and Rita Case.

• The Seminole Hard Rock Casino Hollywood Annual Pin Brunch on Saturday, December 10th, benefitted Women In Distress of Broward County, Inc. Pin collectors for the state of Florida were in attendance to trade and collect new pieces of pin art, while at the same time donated to Women In Distress by bringing an unwrapped toy or gift for Mom or Dad. The event raised more than $3,000 for the organization, which will help provide free services to those affected by domestic violence.

• Special thanks to Essentials Boutique for hosting a non-perishable food drive for Women In Distress! Your help and generosity provided so many meals for those in our shelter.
   
• Thank you to Lisa Goodwin for providing a Group Life Coaching Session at George English Park last month. Her kind words helped inspire those in attendance and brought awareness to Women In Distress.
   
• Thank you to the Prissy Hen, a consignment shop in Fort Lauderdale, for donating gently used clothing to the Women In Distress Thrift Store since 2007. The unique name of the store comes from the old Warner Brother’s cartoon that featured Foghorn Leghorn and other barnyard characters. Whether you're shopping for something in particular or just browsing - there is something for everyone.
   
• On March 1, 2011, Pollo Tropical and Women In Distress partnered up for the "Handhelds Campaign" ! Any cell phones donated at any Pollo Tropical location, let donors received a complimentary Shrimp or Chicken Quesadilla wrap.
