Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who supported the event! About 1,000 individuals came out and participated in the event on what turned out to be a beautiful morning. It was great to see so much support from our community for the families we serve at Women In Distress. Click here to watch a video about our agency and the event!

About the Event
Each October, in honor of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, over 1,500 community members consisting of 75+ teams, individual walkers and runners take to the pavement to raise awareness about domestic violence and to raise funds for the much needed programs and services which Women In Distress of Broward County, Inc. offers to victims of domestic violence in our community.
Each walker and runner is asked to raise a minimum of $200 in donations (this is a suggested goal and is not mandatory). By asking friends, colleagues, family members, and neighbors to sponsor you in the event, you will be making a difference in the life of a victim of domestic violence.
Do you have a group of five or more people interested in walking or running? Form a team! All teams will have the opportunity to take a team photo at the event and walk/run with a team sign.
Take Your Involvement A Step Further

Purple Heart Project: This year we are introducing a new
element – the Purple Heart. To honor someone who has
been affected by domestic violence, we will offer purple
hearts for walkers and runners to wear during the event
as a tribute and symbol of their courage.

Dog Walk: For the second year, we are pleased to bring
back a special registration type for dogs! All funds raised
through this $10 registration fee will help build our new
Pet Shelter to provide a safe place for pets of domestic
violence victims who reside in our shelter.
This fun event is officially timed and awards are given to top finishers. All registrants receive a free breakfast and event t-shirt, as well as the opportunity to visit vendors in our Vendor Village. By participating in the event, you too can take a step to end domestic violence!
