Women In Distress' SAFE Walk/ Run 5K is over 10 years old! This community tradition unites community leaders, families, student and professional groups, companies, and many more in taking a step to end domestic violence.

Each October, in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, about 1,000 community members, consisting of 40+ teams, individual walkers and runners take to the pavement to raise awareness about domestic violence and to raise funds for the much needed programs and services which Women In Distress of Broward County, Inc. offers to victims of domestic violence in our community.

  • This fun event is officially timed and awards are given to top finishers.
  • Teams and individuals fundraise online and through personal connections.
  • Free breakfast and event t-shirts are provided for all.
  • The SAFE Walk/ Run is truly a collaborative effort to take a step to end domestic violence!
