| Women In Distress of Broward County, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is Broward County’s only nationally accredited, state-certified domestic violence center. For over 37 years, Women In Distress has provided services and programs at no cost to families in need. This is due to funding from the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Broward County, United Way, individuals, municipalities, private and corporate foundations, and the organization’s thrift store.Women In Distress raises additional funds every year through special events, direct mail, auxiliaries and other support. Our Board of Directors and staff maintain the very highest standards and level of professionalism in managing our funds.
