  Become an Agency Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Women In Distress. We appreciate your commitment to keeping families safe, and your willingness to offer time and talents for the benefit of our participants.

Our volunteer opportunities change frequently as priorities and projects arise. If you are interested in working in counseling or teaching capacities, we do not currently have needs for volunteers in these areas. Instead, we regularly utilize volunteers:

  • On our 24-Hour Crisis Hotline
  • Administratively at our Family Center in departments like development, accounting or social change
  • Assisting at our Thrift Store
  • Out in the community with our Speaker’s Bureau
  • In respite care
  • For special events or holidays

The best way to stay updated about volunteer opportunities is to join our volunteer database, so that you can receive our Volunteer Newsletter. You can view the latest newsletter here.

While our current needs are limited and ever-changing, we will keep your email on file and let you know when new opportunities for volunteering are available and when agency volunteer trainings and meetings occur.

We appreciate the many generous community offers we receive from local businesses and individuals to provide services to our participants such as hair care, wellness workshops and educational/financial seminars – we are currently not organizing such events or services – however we’d like to keep your information on file should a need or opportunity arise. Please send this form via email to our Volunteer Department.

If you:

• Are an active volunteer currently working in one of Women In Distress' departments and you have questions or concerns, please contact Christine Ferrara at 954-760-9800 ext. 1210.

• Are interested in supporting WID through a donation drive (cell phones, baby items, gently used clothing), please click here for more information OR if you're interested in hosting a third-party fundraising event, please contact Development Coordinator Madelyn Reus.
