heLP STOP dOMESTIC vIOLENCE aBUSE: ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED BUT YOU CAN REGISTER AT THE EVENT.
Join us for our 18th Annual SafeWalk-Run 5K on Saturday, February 25, 2017 to be held at NSU’s Davie Campus with a NEW CERTIFIED COURSE. Community members, corporate teams, student organizations, along with individual walkers and runners, will take to the pavement to raise awareness about domestic violence and to raise funds for the much needed services Women In Distress offers free of charge to victims of domestic violence .
Our goal this year is to raise $150,000 to provide support services and 2,000+ nights of safe shelter to survivors and their families escaping abusive situations.
Each walker and runner is asked to raise a minimum of $200 in donations (suggested goal). By asking friends, colleagues, family members, and neighbors to sponsor you in the event, you will be making a difference in the life of a victim of domestic violence. Teams are groups of five or more people interested in participating.
If you’re interested in sponsoring this event, please download a form or contact Michael Barron at firstname.lastname@example.org. For registration and fundraising questions, please contact Eileen Trower, Events Coordinator at email@example.com.
